How it works

About this tool
Search engines, file managers and PDF readers show the title and author saved inside a PDF, not its file name. A report titled “Microsoft Word - draft_v7.docx”, or one that still names a former colleague as its author, looks careless in search results and in the Properties window.
Here you can read the current values and set new ones: title, author, subject, keywords, the app that created the file, the PDF producer, and the creation and modification dates. Hushdesk writes them to the document information dictionary and to the XMP metadata at the same time, so every program shows the same text, Cyrillic included. It all runs on your device; the PDF is not uploaded.
-
Info and XMP in sync
Older readers use the information dictionary, newer tools and search engines the XMP packet. Both receive identical values, so nothing contradicts.
-
Any language
Titles and names are stored as Unicode, so Cyrillic, Greek or Chinese text displays correctly in Acrobat, Windows Explorer and macOS.
-
Nothing else changes
Pages, fonts, bookmarks, links and form fields are kept, and a PDF/A file keeps its conformance mark.
-
Stays on your device
The document is read and saved by an on-device engine, so the values you type never reach a server.
Questions and answers
Why does Google show a different title for my PDF?
Search engines often use the Title stored inside a PDF rather than its file name. Set a clear title here; once the file is crawled again, that title can appear in results.
Which PDF properties can I change?
Title, author, subject, keywords, the application the document was created in, the PDF producer, and the creation and modification dates. Other custom entries are kept as they are.
What is the difference between Creator and Producer?
The creator is the app the document was written in, for example Word. The producer is the software that turned it into a PDF. Both are free text that you can change or clear.
In what format should I enter the dates?
Year-month-day and, if you like, the time: 2026-09-30 14:30. Add a time zone such as +03:00 when it matters; without one the time is stored as typed.
Will changing the metadata break a digital signature?
Yes. Any change to a signed PDF invalidates its signatures, and the result warns you about it. Edit the metadata before the document is signed.
Can I delete all the metadata at once?
Yes. Choose Remove all, or open the metadata remover, to delete every property, the XMP packet and page-level application data in one go.
