About this tool
Got a deck as a PDF and need to present it, add a slide or change the order in PowerPoint? Choose the file and every page becomes a slide. By default Hushdesk renders each page on your device as a sharp picture and sizes the slides to the page, so nothing shifts, no font goes missing and the file is not uploaded. The text of each page can go into the speaker notes.
If you need to edit the words and shapes themselves, pick Editable shapes: LibreOffice rebuilds text boxes, lines and pictures on our server (France), and the upload is scheduled for deletion right after conversion.
-
Slides that match the PDF
Each page is rendered by PDFium, the PDF engine inside Chrome, at 150 or 220 dpi. Charts, formulas and fonts look exactly as they do in the PDF.
-
Slide size follows the page
A 16:9 deck stays 16:9 and an A4 handout gets A4-shaped slides, so there are no black bars and no stretched pages.
-
Searchable speaker notes
The text of every page is copied into the notes of its slide: handy while presenting and for finding a slide later.
-
Private by default
Slides as images runs in an isolated frame of this tab whose network access is blocked by your browser. Only Editable shapes uses our server, and only after you confirm.
Questions and answers
Can I edit the text after converting a PDF to PowerPoint?
With Slides as images each slide is a picture, so the text on it is not editable, but it is in the speaker notes. Choose Editable shapes to get text boxes and shapes you can change; the look may differ slightly from the PDF.
Is my PDF uploaded when I turn it into slides?
Not with Slides as images: rendering and packaging run on your device. Editable shapes uploads the file to our server (France) after you confirm, schedules the upload for cleanup after conversion and the PPTX according to the selected retention setting.
Why are my slides not 16:9?
The slides take the shape of the first PDF page, so nothing is cropped or stretched. Pages with a different shape are centred on their slide, and the result mentions it.
How many PDF pages can become slides?
Slides as images converts up to 300 pages on a computer and 60 on a phone; Editable shapes accepts up to 200 pages and 50 MB. High picture quality makes larger files, so use Standard for long documents.
Does the PPTX open in Keynote and Google Slides?
Yes. The result is a standard PPTX file that Keynote, Google Slides and LibreOffice Impress open just like PowerPoint does.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF to PowerPoint?
Yes, with Slides as images: type the password when asked. It is checked on your device and never sent anywhere. The PowerPoint file has no password.
