How it works

  1. 01 Choose one or more .md files (up to 10 at a time).
  2. 02 Pick A4 or US Letter; under More options you can switch to landscape or hide page numbers.
  3. 03 Press Convert to PDF.
  4. 04 Download the PDF, or a ZIP when you converted several files.

About this tool

Markdown is perfect for writing and terrible for sending to someone who has never heard of it. Drop a README, a changelog, meeting notes exported from Obsidian or a chapter of your docs, and Hushdesk lays it out as an A4 or US Letter PDF: headings, GitHub-style tables with column alignment, fenced code in a monospaced font, task lists, quotes and clickable links. PT Sans and PT Mono are embedded in the file, so Latin, Cyrillic and accented text looks the same on every computer and stays searchable. The conversion runs inside this browser tab; your notes are never uploaded.

  • GitHub-flavoured Markdown

Tables with left, centre and right alignment, strikethrough, task lists, fenced and indented code, nested lists and blockquotes.

  • Fonts travel with the file

PT Sans for text and PT Mono for code are embedded as subsets, so the PDF prints the same everywhere, including Ukrainian, Kazakh and Serbian letters.

  • Real text, not a screenshot

Every word can be selected, copied and found with Ctrl+F, and links stay clickable in any PDF viewer.

  • Front matter handled

YAML or TOML front matter from static-site generators is removed instead of being printed as a stray rule and heading.

Questions and answers

Which Markdown syntax does the PDF converter understand?

CommonMark plus the GitHub extensions: tables, strikethrough, task lists and autolinks. Maths formulas, Mermaid diagrams and footnotes are not rendered; they appear as the plain text you typed.

Why do my Markdown images show up as text in square brackets?

An image written as a path or a web address lives outside the .md file, and the converter never goes online. Its alt text is printed instead. Images embedded in the file as PNG or JPEG data URLs are placed on the page.

Does code keep its indentation and line breaks?

Yes. Code blocks use the monospaced PT Mono font on a light grey background, tabs become four spaces and very long lines wrap instead of running off the page. There is no syntax colouring.

Can I convert a whole folder of .md files?

Select up to ten files at once. Each becomes its own PDF with the same name, and you download them together as one ZIP archive.

Do my notes leave the computer during conversion?

No. The Markdown is parsed and the PDF is written by code running in an isolated frame of this page that has no network access, which you can confirm in the Network tab of the developer tools.
