What this is
Hushdesk is a set of free tools for PDFs, images, office documents and text recognition. Most of them run entirely in your browser: the file is read and processed on your device and never uploaded.
How it is built
- Browser first. Every tool that can run in a browser does. It runs in an isolated frame where your browser blocks network access, and you can verify it yourself.
- Cloud only when needed. Some formats need programs that do not exist in browsers. Those tools run on our server in France, only after you press the button, and delete files automatically.
- Open-source engines. The tools are built on open-source software. The full list with licenses is on the open-source licenses page.
- Free, no accounts. There is nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for. The cloud has fair-use limits so it stays available.
