About this tool
A watermark tells everyone at a glance that a document is a draft, a copy or confidential, and shows who it belongs to. Type the text or choose a logo, set how transparent it should be, turn it to any angle and place it in the centre, in a corner or repeated across the page. Cyrillic text such as «КОНФИДЕНЦИАЛЬНО» is set in an embedded font, so it looks right in every viewer. The pages underneath stay as they were: their text remains selectable and searchable. Questions and answers
Can I use my company logo as a watermark?
Yes. Switch to Image and choose a PNG or JPG. A PNG with a transparent background blends best; opacity and angle work the same way as for text.
How transparent should a watermark be?
Around 30–40% is visible without hiding the text underneath. Go lower for a subtle mark and higher for a stamp nobody can miss.
Can someone remove the watermark?
A watermark discourages copying but is not tamper-proof: someone with a PDF editor can delete or cover it. A pattern repeated across the page is much harder to remove cleanly than a single mark.
Will the text under the watermark stay searchable?
Yes. The watermark is added as a separate layer on top; the original text, links and fonts are not changed.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Open More options and list the pages, for example 1, 3-5 or 2-z. With the field empty, every page gets the mark.
Does the watermark support Russian or other alphabets?
The embedded font covers Latin, Cyrillic and the common European letters. Characters it cannot draw, such as emoji, are replaced with “?” and you get a warning.
