How it works

  1. 01 Drop the PDF here or pick it from your files.
  2. 02 Keep PNG selected and set the resolution.
  3. 03 Name the pages you need, or leave the field blank for all of them.
  4. 04 Press Convert and save the PNG images.

About this tool

PNG is the format to pick when a page has to stay pixel-perfect: a chart for a report, a floor plan, a code listing, a slide you want to annotate in an image editor. Hushdesk draws each page of your PDF and stores it as a lossless PNG, so thin lines and small letters keep hard edges instead of the blurry halo that JPEG compression leaves around them. Use 150 dpi for on-screen work and 300 dpi for print or further editing; convert the whole document or only the pages you name. Your computer or phone does all the work, and the PDF is not sent anywhere.

  • Lossless quality

PNG keeps every pixel exactly as rendered. No blocky artefacts appear around letters, table borders or hairlines.

  • Ready for editing

Open the images in Figma, Photoshop, GIMP or a slide deck, then crop, highlight or annotate them without losing more quality.

  • True print size

The chosen dpi is stored in each PNG, so a 300 dpi page placed in Word or InDesign keeps the real dimensions of the paper.

  • Stays on your device

Rendering and saving happen inside this browser tab. Nothing is transferred, which matters for contracts, statements and drawings under NDA.

Questions and answers

Are PNG files bigger than JPG files?

Usually, yes. PNG compresses without any loss, so a page with photos can be several times larger than as JPG. Pages that are mostly text on white stay reasonably small. When size matters more than crispness, choose PDF to JPG.

Do PDF pages saved as PNG get a transparent background?

No. Pages are rendered on white, like a printed sheet, which is how PDF viewers show them too.

Which dpi gives the sharpest PNG?

300 dpi: an A4 page then becomes 2480 × 3508 pixels, enough for print and for zooming into fine print. 72 dpi is only meant for small previews.

Can I make a PNG of a single PDF page?

Yes. Type its number into Pages, for example 4, and you get exactly one PNG file without an archive.

What happens to links and selectable text?

An image cannot hold them: the PNG shows the page as it looks, but its text can no longer be selected and links stop working. To get the words themselves, use PDF to text.

Is my PDF transferred anywhere to make the PNGs?

No. The engine that draws the pages is loaded into your browser and works offline inside an isolated frame. You can confirm in the developer tools that no request contains the document.
