Limits on your device depend on its memory. Larger files may still work; the tool warns you first.

How it works

  1. 01 Choose or drop your image: JPG, PNG or WebP.
  2. 02 Keep the 200 KB target, or type a different limit in KB.
  3. 03 Press Compress and give it a moment to find the best quality.
  4. 04 Download the result, ready for the upload form.

About this tool

A 200 KB cap is common on application portals and in email-friendly workflows, and it leaves room for a clear photo if the file is prepared well. With the target preset to 200 KB, Hushdesk runs a short search: it encodes the image at a high quality, measures the result, then narrows the quality down until the file sits just below 200,000 bytes. The pixel dimensions stay as they are unless the picture is too big to fit; then it is scaled down proportionally and you see the final size. All of it happens locally, and the file does not leave your device.

  • Safe for any definition

200 KB is treated as 200,000 bytes, so the file passes whether a site counts a kilobyte as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.

  • Room for detail

At 200 KB a typical photo keeps a width of about 1,600 pixels at good quality, enough for a sharp view on screen.

  • A whole application at once

Compress every scan for one application in a single run and download them together as a ZIP.

Compress, resize or crop first?

Crop first when the picture has empty margins or background you do not need: it is free quality. Resize next if the form asks for specific pixel dimensions. Compress last, so the size target applies to the final picture, not to one you will change again.

Questions and answers

Is 200 KB enough for a sharp photo?

For screens, yes. A portrait or a document photo around 1,600 pixels wide usually fits at good quality. Very detailed or noisy shots may be scaled down slightly.

How does the tool decide on the quality?

It measures real results: it saves the image at a few quality levels, interpolates between them and keeps the highest one under 200 KB, usually after five to seven tries.

Does 200 KB mean 200,000 or 204,800 bytes?

Hushdesk aims for at most 200,000 bytes. That is the stricter reading, so the file is accepted by sites that use either definition.

Can I compress a PDF to 200 KB on this page?

This page works with images only. For documents, use Compress PDF, which shrinks the pictures inside a PDF to a size target in the same private way.

Why does my scanned page look blurry after compressing?

Text needs more pixels than a portrait. Crop away the margins so the text fills more of the frame, straighten the page if it is tilted, and compress again.
