About this tool
Front cameras often save selfies as a mirror image, so the writing on a T-shirt or a street sign reads backwards. Flipping the picture horizontally puts everything back where it belongs; flipping it vertically turns it upside down, like a reflection in water. This page starts with a horizontal flip; you can switch to vertical or combine a flip with a 90° turn. Hushdesk rewrites the pixels in the original format, PNG without any loss and JPEG at its own quality, and names the new file with “_flipped” at the end. Nothing is uploaded.
-
Readable selfies
Text and logos in front-camera photos read the right way again after a horizontal flip.
-
Both axes
Mirror left to right or top to bottom, or combine a flip with a 90° or 180° turn in the same step.
-
Easy to tell apart
Flipped copies are saved as name_flipped, so they never get confused with the originals.
Questions and answers
Why are my selfies mirrored?
Front cameras show a mirrored preview, like a bathroom mirror, and many phones save the photo the same way. A horizontal flip shows the scene as other people see it.
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the picture around its center, while flipping mirrors it. A horizontal flip swaps left and right, which no rotation can reproduce.
Can I flip a whole folder of pictures?
Yes. Select them all: each one is mirrored the same way, and you can download them together as a ZIP.
Does flipping change the image quality?
PNG and lossless WebP use lossless encoding. JPEG is encoded again and may lose detail; compare the result with the original.
Is the mirroring done online or on my device?
On your device. The page loads the engine once, and the flip itself runs in your browser without sending the picture anywhere.
