How it works
- 01 Choose or drop the PDF.
- 02 Type the pages to keep, for example 2, 5-7, 12 (z is the last page).
- 03 Start the extraction with the main button.
- 04 Download the new PDF that contains only the selected pages.
About this tool
Sometimes you only need part of a document: the signed page of a contract, the two pages of a report your manager asked for, a single chapter to send to a colleague. Type the page numbers, for example 2, 5-7, 12, and Hushdesk copies exactly those pages into a new PDF, in the order you wrote them. The original file is not changed.
Because the pages are copied rather than printed again, text stays searchable and scans keep their full resolution. Extraction happens locally in your browser, which makes it suitable for contracts, medical records and other papers that should not be uploaded.
-
Any order, repeats allowed
Write 5, 1-3 to put page 5 first, or list a page twice if the new file needs it twice.
-
Original untouched
You get a separate file with the selected pages, while the source PDF on your disk stays exactly as it was.
-
Bookmarks where they fit
Bookmarks that lead to the extracted pages are carried over into the new document.
Several pieces instead of one file?
To turn every range into a file of its own, or to cut the document into equal parts, use Split PDF. To drop a few pages and keep the rest, remove those pages instead.
Questions and answers
How do I save just one page of a PDF?
Type its number, for example 4, and start. You get a one-page PDF; the other pages are not included.
Can I change the page order while extracting?
Yes. Pages go into the new file in the order you type them, so 3, 1, 2 puts page 3 first. Ranges may also run backwards, like 9-7.
Is extracting a copy or a cut?
A copy. The original file is not modified. To delete pages from the document itself, use the tool that removes pages instead.
Do extracted pages keep their quality?
Yes. Pages are transferred as they are: text remains selectable and images keep their resolution, because nothing is rasterised or re-compressed.
